Being a girl not from this country where dreams come true has been a battle.
The shiny, brunette hair that gives a hint of her culture,
those chocolate brown eyes in her face,
just gave it away.
Everyone know she is Latina or more specific Mexican.
Yet she did not let that stop her
Brought to the USA not knowing English or even write her own language,
That was hard to do when her parents did not know how to help since
they did not know to speak English.
Many kids made fun of her
at times even pushed her around.
Not knowing that only made her stronger
Growing up with a responsibility of an adult being a mom
for her three sisters and two brothers was was struggle to be a normal girl.
Parents working night and day, every day.
All she could wonder was why was she born.
In School she did not fit with her classmates,
Everyone were just so cool or were just hippocrates.
Yet that did not stop her
She always wanted to drive yet her dad did not teach her.
Her Uncle Cruz was the brave one to let her drive.
It was all a blur.
Yet that did not stop her.
At the age of 14 she had her first job.
She was working in a place where they were payed cash because of her legal status.
The urge to learn everything lead her to catch up quick and was sure fast.
The “lava platos/salad bar/ and even grill” and the only girl in the kitchen.
Her hands were beginning to get damaged yet that did not stop her.
Working nights and catching up with her school she learned English well.
Spanish, well she learned by reading text messages of her friends.
She graduated with High Honors.
The First in her family was sure an honor.
She had the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Dreams were for once taken in consideration.
She Worked three jobs so she can come up with the money.
Since she had lived in two other states getting the papers organized was a struggle
Yet that did not stop her.
As soon as she received an approval she was a happy camper.
Got her ID
Did her six long hour class,
Passed and was off to get her driver’s test.
Many people including her dad put her down.
Left her behind at work without a ride.
Was bullied and was sad for so many years.
That did not stop her.
She works harder every day.
She now works harder in an office.
Helping those that are in fear.
She always dreamed of traveling and her parents always told her she was crazy.
She has been in seventeen states and still planning to travel more.
In one case she went to Philadelphia who knows how she did it.
I can say she is persistent,
How in the world, in the middle to millions of people was she going to get to see the Pope if she was only 5 feet and everyone were so tall.
Yet that did not stop her
She walked and pushed people aside and ended up in the front by the fence
and did not have nobody blocking her.
Front row view to see Pope Francis in his visit in 2015
Was sure the best.
It is very easy to just give up and quit
It takes much more to keep trying even when your inner self wants you to stop.
If you want it work for it. Do not expect others to get it done for you.
This is my point of view that gives me hopes that even when others say you can’t do it you try and prove that you can.
